Bush and the hungarian revolution

Bush have commemorated in his speech about our country and about our revolution on 15th March. BUT: this revolution was happened in 1848-49, Bush has spoken contrarily about a revolution for 50 years ago. Was he tired, or simply he did not know where he is?
